Hi all! Welcome to Leena's profile page, the character belonging to me, Diana! Well, sorta. She's ACTUALLY in the games (see this page to find out where) and the series and manga and stuff...But she never was elaborated on or anything. So I took it upon myself to! She's based on the game version and slightly off the TV version--so bear with me. Spoilers are contained in white parenthesis, and the spoilers themselves are the color of the background. Maisy Leena Knights was born in Azalea Town to Prescilla and Kaimon Knights, a PokeMon Professor and Silph Corp. overseas representitive respectively. As a result of their busy jobs, the two parents were constantly traveling, so Maisy was essentially raised by her grandfather, Kurt. Kurt created special PokeBalls made from apricots and had a service for trainers who bothered to stop by. Maisy was trained in the trade, but was not very good. She usually just stood by her grandfather's bench and watched him work. Her parents would come home once or twice a month, bringing her gifts and generally making a large fuss over her. Because of this and constant pampering from Kurt, she became a very spoiled child, and had a hard time making friends with kids her own age. She'd often become friendly with passerby trainers, but they never stayed around very long. She didn't very much care, and remained close to the adults in her life more than the youth.
When Maisy was roughly 6, her mother decided to take her on one of her trips while Kaimon had to stay home and work on a project. During the trip, the ship they were traveling on was marooned on a small, desert island and her mother died from dehydration two days before a rescue squad arrived. After this Maisy refused to use her real name and opted to use her middle name, Leena. This seemed to help her bear the pain more easily, and she never speaks of her mother. Kurt fears she blocked out the memory.
Things proceeded somewhat normally for a while after that. Then, when Leena was 9, Team Rocket paid a visit to Azalea Town and began to cut off and sell Slowpoke Tail. Leena through some chain of events got caught up in it as well, and after Team Rocket was stopped, Leena was exiled from the town for aiding them despite protests from her family. She was given to an orphanage in Goldenrod City, which she ran away from just days after arriving. After scrounging up enough money to buy a train ticket, she went to Saffron City to look for her father. She didn't manage to find him, however.
Leena wandered Kanto for quite some time, living off of the land (rather unsuccessfully) with her Cubone. Since they never managed to find enough to eat, both Leena and Cubone's growths were stunted, making them smaller than most.
Around the time Leena assumed she was 10, she met Zacharie Park behind a dumpster at one of her concert. Not wanting to leave the small girl there, Zacharie took her in and treated her as a sister, buying her clothes, food, and eventually letting her move in with her. Zacharie got her training to be a nurse at any PokeMon center in Kanto, so in the spirit of tradition Leena had her hair dyed and began to call herself "Joy". Through their travels the two managed to collect all the gym badges of Kanto, Johto and even Hoenn. When she was 12 Zacharie had her join her act, but Zacharie "retired" from her singing career shortly afterwards. The two moved to Esrah, got jobs as Reidlos and worked their way up to where they are today. They are currently the most powerful trainers (other than Lance) in Esrah.
